I am looking for a leather hand guard for a 28 Ga SxS shotgun. I was able to find them at Galazan.

Are there any other vendors who supply these guards? Possibly small,independent craftsman?

Try John Bugden, in Tenn. I bought a very nice leather guard for a 10 gauge. Can't remember what I paid but it was far and away nicer than the commercially available.

VPT, note that a weighted hand guard is useful in tweeks to gun handling. You can increase the gun weight, move the balance forward, and increase swing efforts. Most 28's are on the light, rear balanced, and "whippy" swing efforts. You can experiment by taping 2 to 8 oz (think zip-lock sandwich bag with lead shot and masking tape) centered where the center o f the hand guard would be. Mr. Bugden will supply accurately weighted hand guards for "a bit more."
