I've spoken with Geoffroy Gournet about Charlins. According to him, they are more coveted in France than the Darne. He's says they cost much more than Darne of a comparable grade in Europe as well. Charlins are quite a bit smoother operating than the Darne action, the couple I've seen have been very well made. The Charlin at Hallowell & Co. has been there for a long time and is considered by many to be overpriced in this country. Charlins are nice guns. If you have any problems, like the thing needing to be repaired or something like that, Gunter Pfrommer can fix it for you as can Geoffroy Gournet.
