Interesting, I have used Pro Custom oil for a long time and have finished my friends stocks in addition to my own with no spray/nozzle or any other problems.
I started using Gun Sav'R back before Brownells sold it, about 20 years ago or so.... I used to buy it by the case direct from Chem Pak in W.V. before they had a sales network out there marketing the product, at which time they quit selling direct unfortunately.
I have never had any problems with it and I think it is the best quality gun stock finish out there. It is far superior to any and all the other concoctions that I have tested. The final finish and durability is stellar and
way beyond any other products that I know of............
The ability to finish stocks in an oil style dull, semi gloss or gloss or anywhere in between, filling or not filling all the wood pores, with superb durability has made it my favorite for years...... After staining I usually apply three to four coats allowing a 24 hour curing/drying between coats....... and a light #0000 steel wool buff between coats as well.
The shrink rate of this product after application is about 50% as it cures....So after a little practice it's use becomes a simple task. This product is very easy to work with.
As noted on the product itself,
"Tough, durable, scuff resistant, will not chip, peel or crack....resistant to moisture, oils, solvents and can be used to fill grain"...
It is possible to hand wax the final gloss finish,
or dull to various levels meeting your customers requirements....hand waxing/rubbing the final finish should occur within the first 'few days' after the final coat is applied and
before the finish reaches it's maximum hardness.
Keeping cans and the nozzles clean is a simple task.....I always clean the spray nozzles with a good quality carb cleaner, like Berrymans, directly through the nozzle
immediately after each coat....it evaporates rapidly and the nozzle is then clean as new, for storage or re-use. I also add a few drops of carb cleaner in the aperture where the nozzle fits.....see pictures attached......

SEMI-GLOSS FINISH....
SATIN FINISH....
