Any tips on filling grain?
To fill the wood grain pores easily and completely, apply Brownells purified boiled linseed oil after your dried stain application and final stain buff with steel wool.....
Brownells purified linseed oil contains driers for a 4-6 hour cure time.
Then steel wool the cured/dried linseed grain fill coat with 0000 steel wool and wet with water to check for any surface imperfections and adjust accordingly..... Then finish with several coats of Gun Sav'R as noted above for the final top coat and wax accordingly for your desired finish. Brownells purified linseed oil and Gun Sav'R are very compatible with each other.
