Maybe it was just a real good weekend for gunparts. I'm building a 3 custom Marlin lever action .22's and was watching a steel crescent plate, it went for 110.00$. Twice what they normally seem to go for and a broken but complete mag tube assembly went for 355$! CRAZY! and to think I am building new tube assembly's for 2 of the customs. I think I found something good this past weekend in an ebay auction, does anyone see what could be a nice gem in this group of butt plates? butt plates

Yea, if you don't want the steel one - let me know. I'd cover your bid price for all 7.

Thanks SKB, the one in the upper left was the one I wanted, I kept thinking that someone was going to spot it and bid it up. It should arrive tomorrow. I will take some pictures and post them here.

I think Brownells has them for under $30. I remember buying them for $3 each and a trap door Albright was $18.

Anyone know who made this buttplate? Not as nice as the one above, no spur, but heavier than the Albright ones.
I learn something every day, and a lot of times it's that what I learned the day before was wrong

The butt plates that I won on ebay arrived yesterday, I was really only interested in the Niedner-style butt plate that looked like it had been color case-hardened. Here are pictures of it. side1 side2
I like the butt plate, whether it is an actual Niedner butt plate would be difficult to say.

I may be mistaken, but every Niedner buttplate I recall having seen on Niedner Rifles AND REMOVED, are marked one way or the other, including the two on my rifles. They are marked Niedner Rifle Corp. in small stamped leters. HTH
