I had used this term which was taken from the movie "On Brother Where Art Thou". Where Clooney's wife said her suitor was Bona Fide.
"Bona fide pronounced [ boh-nuh fahy-d] means to be presented in good faith; without deception or" ...............which we know that most times Runs with the mouth is not.
I've never used it in that context. Only to mean "the real deal" or genuine. Example: "Baseball HOF'er Ty Cobb was a bonafide a-hole."
