by the sight of would-be beautiful hammer guns but the hammers are BLUED!

To my eye they look cobbled together with spare parts and remind me of those awful S&W "Two-Tone" revolvers from the Seventies.

Just what is the deal with these? I believe I've only seen this done on high-end "name" guns, which makes it even worse. I think the real bottom was a Grant with hammers and side lever blued.

I suppose I'll be told that when the guns were new the actions wore vibrant case colors so everything went together nicer but I just don't know if that would do it for me either.

I don't know. The top lever on guns being blued doesn't detract from the overall beauty for me one bit, but I just can't abide blued hammers.

Anybody else feel this way or am I becoming too much of an aesthetic prig?
