Well, I finally got a call back. The guy said he would pay to have the barrels honed out. He says he didn't know. What do you think? I'm not sure if lengthening the forcing cone and back boring would fix it or not. I don't want to have barrels that are too thin. I'm thinking of letting Brileys look at it. I don't know of anyone who works on shotguns in NM.
Those pits are in the worst possible place, where the pressure is very high.........very dangerous to back bore/hone or remove metal and thin those walls right in front of the chamber where the pressure peaks with those "deep" pits, which would require removing a lot of metal.......that is a recipe for disaster just waiting to happen IMO........
You should send it back for a refund and move on....
Good Luck,
