Let me tell about a great product I found several years ago. Blaster Penetrating Catalyst

This stuff is sold in gallon cans at your auto parts store. I got mine at Advance Auto Parts: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/blaster-penetrating-catalyst-128-pb/7040062-P

It is not expensive, and it works great for cleaning guns and as a bore cleaner where copper fouling is not an issue.

I still use Hoppes and various copper cleaners for my rifle bores, but this stuff works great for all other cleaning applications. Give it a try.
