John, I don't believe I mentioned exactly what I've used the Hoppe's COPPER solvent on.

While I don't shoot copper pellets in any of my shotguns, I have quite a bit of experience shooting copper jacketed bullets through quite a few rifles.

Since the projectiles were copper jacketed, I did for a short while in the 90's use the Hoppe's COPPER solvent.

So I full heartedly agree with you. I don't know why anyone would use this solvent to clean a shotgun barrel.

Unless they shoot copper pellets in them. Do you shoot copper pellets in any of your shotguns? If you do, I'd advise you to stay away from this Hoppe's #9 Benchrest COPPER solvent. It's nasty stuff.
