Are you required to use steel or non toxic shot or can you still use lead? Here, the requirement for non toxic shot and initially the avaialabilty of only steel pellets and in some cases poor &/or unsuitable wads caused many people to stop using their doubles for waterfowl and geese to aviod damage to their guns. I have seen several FN's & assorted German doubles damaged at the muzzle from using unsuitable steel loads in them. In the worst cases the ribs have also come loose in addition to the bbls. being 'rung' at the chokes.
Today, it is now the exception to see anyone shooting duck or geese with a double gun here.
