Having run the 4 position small bore program at our club for a couple of years, and enjoying all type of target rifles, I'd hate to see that one disassembled to make a sporter. It would make a great starter for small bore competition for your son(if not too heavy). I'm sure it weighs less than the 16# Anschutz I used to shoot.....

Finally remembered I had this. 1925 ad showing 4 targets shot at 100 yards by a James Miller of Reading, PA. He scored 399x400.

This 1930 17xxx Model 52 Win. became mine over the weekend, the UPS STORK should have it here along with 2 other rifles [a 6.5x55 Sporter and a 7x57 Sporter] and a mint 4x Leupold Mountaineer by Wed. or Thurs. Comments? The custom scope mount looks professionally done.
