Why is it most post that go more than 3 pages end up in some sort of peeing contest?

I'm taking a break for a while.

You got that right Mark ,and it's down right foolishness that takes away from all the fun and exchange of info we come here for in the first place.

I think its the security of sitting behind a computer screen and typing the things we wish we had the stones to say to another's face .

It happens to almost every forum ,some are no doubt much worse than others.

Perhaps after one page all the information available has been posted. What follows is filler and other things best left unsaid.

mc,
I guess you aren't old enough, yet,to be bothered by prostate problems. When you do get old enough, you will find out the problem is not excessive peeing, rather insufficient peeing(a couple drops)over multiple tries.

If I offended anyone with my on going rant about the use of bore I would like to apologize for the offence. For me it was a needed journey into to my own thinking and past. I realized from the journey that both gauge and bore are regularly missed used and that it doesn't really matter. That my irritation at the use of the term bore was from experiences from my past that had no relation to shotguns or shotgunning. Once I found my hidden dragon he was easily cast out. Thanks

Mark, I suspect they become peeing contests because, if everyone agrees, there isn't much to say....except "I agree".

Pooch, I could be wrong but I don't think it was specifically your entertaining thread about bore and gauge. I think it was a long running feud from misfires that has recently spilled over into the main section.

Personally I found your thread and the thread on action flats/water table enjoyable as well as informative as the board worked it's way through those subjects.

Pooch: Canvasback is correct, your posts aren't the problem. As far as general crankyness, the whole country (and I can't speak for Canada)seems to be a a bad mood these days. I see alot of it in my little part-time job. Some of it is a simple case of the shack-nasties, as winter had dragged on so long. The rest? Well, perhaps I'm projecting, but the other component seems to be fallout from "Hope & Change". Lots of folks (at least in the demographic that tends to populate this site) are unhappy and very uncomfortable with our current political climate.

I just wish Mr. Weber would limit the pi$$ing matches and personal vendettas to misfires where they belong.

This situation brings to mind a saying I read or heard many years ago. I may not agree with what you say,but I will defend till death, your right to say it! I think this attitude if taken by all members of this forum will create a positive atmosphere and avoid the pissing condition that sometimes exists.IMHO
