I wasnt implying that it is a bad or cheap gun and don't believe I implied as such.. The OP sounds like he might be new to SxS's. He asked for a rough value in it's present condition which I told him what it would be in my area. I am only pointing out that restoring doesn't come cheap if paying to have it done so he can make an informed decision. I have a few english guns that I only paid around $250.00 to $400.00 for . I have had them restored and I am into them for far more than what their value is. But I knew what I was getting into before I went ahead with the work. What resale value might be doesn't matter and I do not regret having them restored. If that is what the OP wants to do after knowing the facts, that is great. At least he made an informed decision and another old gun might possibly be brought back to life.
