Mark,
My first upgrade was a FE Lefever I bought for $600 with a broken stock which I bought from Russ Gould. I was pleased to get the gun. Keith Keacher restocked it and it shoots very well. I then had a Model 97 Winchester redone by Norman Jackson and Bob Valade's son Patrick, it is a very different piece. I currently have a 1899 G Lefever being redone by Dennis Earl Smith, metal by C.G.I., myself, and the barrels by Keacher. I am hoping by the Shoot on July 15 to have an H that is being redone by Doug Mann, Ken Hurst, C.G.I. and with Black - white barrels on display. Do I feel it is worth re-doing or upgrading classic guns? Yes - Are the worth the money? to me yes to others - who really cares- It is what I enjoy doing? Will I do other guns? perhaps, We'll see how the current project comes out.
As yourself, I like the Lefever look. I'll stop by and talk to you about this sometime.
John
