I think in that era it was very simple to request what you wanted. I have seen Remington's 1894 with M M, M F, F M, IC F and IC F all which matched the assumed pellet stamping.

I had a 1900 which is or was setup for a left handed shooter and it is F and M. Triggers were bent for left handed shooter but front trigger fired the right barrel which had full choke. I figured it was setup to take informers or the open balled was to shoot cripples. Never figured for sure if it started out F F with regular triggers and just got triggers bent and one choke opened up. But if that was the case I would have expected the right choke to have been opened and the pellet stamping was more like F M not F F. The first number is implied so I understand.
