I have shot guns of the same LOP that feel very short and I think it's because of how the configuration of the grip and trigger position my hand and therefore my thumb. I guess, to me, the distance between my thumb and nose is more important than the actually LOP. One wouldn't think that measurement would make a difference on a straight-stocked gun, but it does for me.
To answer your question, I think that measurement will have more if an impact than 1/8" - 1/4" LOP, but that's just my experience.
