Finally, a subject that I know something about. I don't shoot competitive clays, so I have no need for the perfect gun. I am 6 ft 5" tall, so my whole life of shooting has been done mostly with guns that don't fit. Hunting mostly upland game with dogs I have found it kind of fun to take an ill fitting gun out in the field and consciously compensating for the lack of "perfect" fit. Last fall I used a 150 year old hammer gun [pinfire] and it did not "fit", but I could actually hit birds on a pretty regular basis. According to my desired LOP, the gun was 1 3/4" too short.
I do have a nice Baker with a 4 1/2" drop. I'm not sure how much fun I could have with that.
