I have seen a couple of higher end [German??] guns marked something like Henry Sears, Chicago.

It's odd that Wards is the one who put Hercules on their guns, that was the name of the workwear line of clothing Sears sold clear into the late 50's. I've got one of the railroad style jackets marked Hercules that I wear pretty often, it's a great old coat.

Does this thread make anybody else wish for the "good old days"! (Minus polio, please....)

I remember walking into Roos Bros. department store (later Roos, Atkins) with my mother when I was seven. She left me in the sporting goods section while she shopped for her teaching wardrobe for the next school year, and I pestered the clerks about all the guns they had, culminating in one of them letting me look at and HOLD an S&W M&P 2" .38 Sp.....

This was in downtown San Francisco, CA.

Not Sears and Roebuck, but Sears in the correct font on the barrels, and underneath

Not too shabby on the sideplates either (sorry for the glare):

Not a lot of info I've been able to find, but it's a 1966 Laurona, suspected to be a sample or presentation gun

Oops, need to work on my pic posting
