RHD45,I've also read that A O Zischang worked for Lefever after Sharps closed.

On page 28 of Robert Elliott's "Uncle Dan Lefever, Master Gunmaker" the photo caption says "A. O. Zischang was barrel shop superintendent for Nichols & Lefever when this 10 gauge double was built for him." The photos shows what seems to be a Grade E N & L hammer gun, but the locks are marked "A. O.Zischang" rather than Nichols & Lefever.

N & L was the last of four partnerships for Mr Lefever prior to creation of D. M.Lefever Co, the maker of the side cocker hammerless guns, and the predecessor to Lefever Arms Co. Incidentally, the first of those side cocker guns, #5000, was displayed at the Las Vegas show recently ended.

The .25-35 rifle above has been with me for the past 25 years or so, and it comes to shoulder just fine!
