The Hodgdon plant was to start producing the first of Jan 2014. They make the clays powers. Many are produced in this country H110, HS 6, HS7 and powders from the Dupont and WW lines. In the mean time try some Alient "dot" powders. Their big advantage is made in the USA

Another advantage is that the "dots" are cheaper. Clay Dot compared to Clays, for example.

I saw a thread on the 16 gauge forum that PB and 7625 have been discontinued in production.

This is something I have noticed this month, the powder shortage has seemingly worsened. Go to any and all on-line retailers; Precision, Ballistic Prod; Recobs, Natchez, Gameliel, Powder Valley, MidwayUSA, MidSouth etc. and almost all shotgun powders are unavailable at this time.

Red Dot, Clays, 700-X, Green Dot, Promo etc, none of them in any quantity is available.

Go to Gunbroker.com, look for powder auctions by gougers. There are not hardly any now where last year at this time there were many.

Something is seriously wrong in this country, the problem goes beyond civilian consumer demand, other factors have to be in play here.

I have quite a bit of Red Dot and Blue Dot. Sorry to see 7625 go as I've used it for decades for my 1 oz 16's.

You need to call the suppliers to see what they have. Often they have inventory on hand but have not updated their web site. If you call for powder do not forget to check on primers. Scarce items are out there, just not easy to find so do not miss a chance.

I have to agree with crowshooter. After spending a few hours on the web it looks like we are riding the crest of a new wave of hoarding.I hope the lemmings live long enough to use most of it...
In the meantime we all get to pay the inflated prices they have caused. frown

Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought stupid, than open it and confirm.
