Hey all,does anyone know what I have? It's 1977 Browning B-S/S Sporter Side-by-Side Shotgun, #02159RR128, 20 ga., 26'' blue game rib barrels choked Mod./Mod., roll-engraved case hardened frame, factory checkered straight walnut stock with splinter forend and factory sling swivels, and Browning rubber butt pad.DOUBLE TRIGGERS,I've looked on internet nothing like it,called Browning no info thought maybe made for Europe or Canada

Most likely it is a gun built for the local market [Japan] or Europe or the UK, Browning did not offer them in that configuration.

I have seen pics of one other with DT, but they are scarce/odd. Well worth keeping.

Does it have Browning markings on the frame or just on the barrels? Could it be a Miroku 500 DT frame fitted with a set of Browning BSS barrels? All matching serial numbers? I have never seen a BSS with factory case coloring, but have seen a few Miroku guns with CC. Can you post pics?


That part sounds like a Miroku configuration. The BSS Sporters all (or maybe not) came with a slim beavertail and oil finish. What's the finish on your wood?

No it has Browning engraving just like Blued receivers .

I've had three BSS Sporters, all have had engraving that was cut, not rolled.

I don't understand the question about pictures. I own two of them now.

They offered another version of the BSS in Europe (doubles triggers, splinter forend, etc) but I don't think color casing was done. Looks after market to me.
