thanks R.R. so the button is missing. i've degreased and cleaned the piece. the serial number from my research shows in the the crass block of numbers.Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.the metal ring is out of the forearm.is there a significant diference between the crass and the lewis as far stock to reciever design?i've had the entire piece apart, but when he first brought it in to me. i could see the fulcrum down in the forend,but no other piece to push down with and i couldn't see hunters 100 years ago taking a nail or a roll punch to get the forend off. thanks pbl
