I have a Grade 1 action that is the basis for what will become a custom Superposed - restocked, etc. I want to have the receiver engraved with a Purdey style Rose and Scroll design. I would appreciate recommendations from the board on an engraver in the U.S.

I meet a man who loves engraving and he said that US engravers are over priced and lack skill! WOW, fighting words!!! He strongly recommends European work for price and quality.

Charles Lee was Purdey's house engraver for years. If you want their style, you'd be hard pressed to do better. As well, he's very reasonable. He's in Ione, CA.

You might check with Bob Strosin, RES engraving in Wisconsin. He does excellent authentic English Scroll, and other styles also.
