And when you have had your made to measure gun fitted remember it stays the same dimensions for the rest of its useful life unless you change it. But you as a living being will change over time usually putting on weight and the gun you had fitted when you where twenty something will not be as good a fit when you arrive at forty. So gun fitting is a continuous exercise unless you are one of those lucky people who can fit in to your wedding suit or dress for that matter some forty years after the event!!!!

Drew, I would like to know what game Kim Rhode was shooting with that four finger thumb to nose placement. I suspect she was not shooting International Skeet, probably International Trap. Most I-Skeet shooters and certainly upland bird shooters of my era prefer a one finger mount. I guess today it has stretched a bit, but not as much as Kim in the picture. If you are a collector of shotguns, you do not get fitted, you shoot what you have. "Shoot more, worry about stock fit less." Do people who get fitted really shoot enough?

I've never had a gun fitting but a year or so ago I purchased a Sporting gun with an adjustable rib, comb and butt. I'm not really a fan of all the adjustable hardware gizmos but the gun was cheap and I did want to experiment with some different combinations. I predominantly shoot low gun. As previously stated one combination is not optimum for all presentations but...at this point I feel I have achieved the best all around configuration (for me). Noticeable changes that have provided better results were: 1. A longer LOP 2. A lower comb and rib. 3. No offset of comb or buttplate. For the record, the set up is substantially different than what I started with at the pattern board. Your mileage may vary..
