Everybody on here writes so young. And then I when see y'alls pictures it is like cold water being thrown on me - your old and grey and wrinkled. I think we should have a rule against posting our pictures.

Nice cannon by-the-way.

Mike we write young because we are young. I recently heard that 80 is today's 50. That being the case I'm 27. smile

Thanks on the cannon. I made it when I was 25 years old and yep it shoots. A blank charge of 1000 gr. FFF makes her buck and roar.

Joel, here's your "farm implement grade" American made scratch built cannon picture that you wanted posted........ smile

Amarillo could harness his dogs up to this gun carriage and tow this old girl around while shooting his midget quail with about 5 lbs of number 7 lead and get a few at a time....... grin.....then he would only have to carry "dog food and water" in saddle bags on the gun carriage with his shot and powder......with rubber tires on it she'd go right over cactus and mesquite stubble......

Yep, that could be the most effective weapon ever for ground-swatting quail. Load it up with 6 ounces of #8s. Catch a covey loafing under a mesquite tree...

But I couldn't hitch it to my Brittanys - the barrel would be pointing the wrong way when they go on point!

I really feel sorry for you northern and western boys. Hunting is just getting good down South! The deer hunters are almost out of the woods and its finally gotten chilly enough to get the leaves off the trees and turned the grass brown. We'll have dove for another weekend, duck till the end of the month, quail till the end of February, rabbits and tree rats too. Then there's that mizerable 15 or 20 day winter wait till Spring Gobbler season opens in March...Geo

Details, details, always details, be creative and think outside the box.......LOL......

You could also use this thing with success on incoming dove, one shot and limit out...just run it up on a mound of dirt, you'd only need to carry a shovel...... laugh

You could bring 'new' shooting students out and tell 'em, "watch this"..........

George, I have a weather recording machine on the roof of my house. About an hour ago it registered --73 below zero wind chill. Come on up, the weather is just a little nippy and brisk today. grin
