It looks like Barnard barrels were made even later then believed

Too bad the picture of the barrel flats is so dark. Appears to be a standard Paris proof, although if the mark appears more than once on each barrel, ahead of the flats (that's the part I can't see) it would designate a higher level of proof.

I recall talking to Gary Murphy about Bernard barrels some time ago, and I think they were made into the 20th century, maybe up to WWI.
