That is a beauty and looks like another well made french boxlock. Very gracefull scalloped action. Engraving very much to my taste. Your barrels are marked exactly like mine.
Leopold Bernard Paris 1832-1870 rue Marbeuf, rue de Villejust, avenue de Versailles." Seit 1849 beruhmt fur damastlaufe". Obviously a damas story. Not surprising for a barrel maker of the time. Roblin Ernst Gabriel, Paris 1872-1880, rue Ville-EvequeI hope it will help you. Always intersted to hear about your Ideals . Best regards Geoffroy (Gournet) It looks like Barnard barrels were made even later then believed __________________________________________________

Too bad the picture of the barrel flats is so dark. Appears to be a standard Paris proof, although if the mark appears more than once on each barrel, ahead of the flats (that's the part I can't see) it would designate a higher level of proof.
I recall talking to Gary Murphy about Bernard barrels some time ago, and I think they were made into the 20th century, maybe up to WWI.
