Yes the toe is tight but I will say that portion of the design is a dead copy of the Whelen design at a .312R. The sides from the toe up about 1/3 of the way are to allow fitting, along the lower 1/3 of the butt. I was not exactly sure how I want that to come up. So better leave stock now then not have it.
Some of this has been a exercise in parametric design with a plan to use it on a M70 stock I am building using a semi inlet I bought from a forum member. Normally I hate semi inlets as they, IMO, are more difficult then working from a blank, however the wood was so nice and the cost so attractive I had to buy it.
