Might not be useful info but,
I recently paid 700 for a 28 inch barrel 20 Ga Hunters Special. Objective was to have something for sub guage events. It's a nice gun, handles well and works just fine. It's out now to have the stock De-oiled cleaned and bedded, it's going to be shot a lot. Probably putting 300 more into the gun and will end up with more invested than it is likely to re-sell for.
12 with extra barrels 700 is not unreasonable if you want a nice shooting vintage 12, what other American Double from the period are you going to find at that price ? Good LC Smith Fields without the extra barrels sell for couple hundred more. Flaming Bomb is a nice extra that may make it re-sell faster at some point. Not something I would seek or pay more for.
Always think about why I want something, useful first. Collectable and value distant 2nd & 3rd. Others may see it different.
