Frank I haven't got to shoot it yet. Mike I got the mold and have cast up 100 paradox bullets. Waiting on some 11 gauge wads to make up the loads. Thanks for helping find the mold Mike

Another solution for your hunting situation is the Continental one - a drilling. Lots of very fine drillings available for much less then an English paradox. Of course paradox guns are cool as hell, but the engineering on a nice German drilling is pretty sweet as well.

MikeH..is that sleeved with a fully rifled, or just the last few inches?...if the latter, how did you accomplish that? (Soldered in rifled choke of some kind?)
I know you can buy new fully rifled bbls, but never heard of newly made P'dox tubes for sale.Could you explain?
I'd so happy to find a nice vintage single to play with.

Both Paradox guns and drillings have been mentioned in this post, but it is possible to have both in one gun. I have seen a Kirkwood drilling with 12 ga Paradox barrels over a .38-55 rifle barrel.I don't know who furnished the gun in the white to Kirkwood, but it was finished in the USA.

Thanks guys for the comments. I have had a drilling and it didn't excite me much. The are clunky for a shotgun and don't handle well for me. German engineering is WAY overrated for my tastes; to futsy. A paradox of some sort is the elegant answer and now I have to find one.

Two points about the Paradox which might slightly hinder the enjoyment of the proposed chase:
- roundhouse trajectory with quite a bit of recoil,
- most Paradox guns were built as double rifles, that is, have a rifle feel and stock dimensions (much like drillings, in fact).

For the standard 12 bores ( the greatest number manufactured) that just isn't so. In fact they are built more as a game gun at just a bit over 7lbs. The recoil for the standard 1050fps load is not objectionable at all.

It's fully rifled. And is was sleeved into the monoblock.
