Has any one read the book "Olly" by Rupert Godfrey? The life & times of Frederick Oliver Robinson, 2nd Marquis of Ripon.
It's a new book but if any one has read it a brief review would be appreciated.

I have it.
An excellent biography of the 2 Marquis of Ripon & view of the times he lived in.
Worth the purchase price IMO. Safari press has it.

I bought and read it a few months back and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you like English country life and the details of some of the big shoots (and best shots) you'll like this book.
I especially liked the details of his life and how the book filled in many of the gaps in my own knowledge of him, his class and that period in English shooting history.

I'd like to have one. If anyone has it and has read it and the labrador retriever has not had his way with it, I'd pay what you paid if you'd care to pass it along...Geo

Interesting how "Downton Abbey" became a symbol of old Brit noble country life.
I guess I must have that "Olly" book. Too bad it doesn't come as an E-book.

Geo, if you're willing to pay full pop for a used one why don't you just go to safaripress.com and buy a new one? You won't regret it, it's quite good.
