Best practice according to the late Ralph Walker is to use a brush barely big enough and roll onto it some fine steel wool. Chuck the rod up in a drill(even if you have to cut a handle off a designated rod) and spin it all with an electric drill. running it back and forth the full length of the bore. I can vouch for the wonderful number it does on plastic fouling, etc. I really cleans up a bore. For the chamber repeat using an appropriate size for the chamber. Add a solvent, or oil, of course to the steel wool... Clean,clean! Steve
