Roy it does not surprise me at all because business is only interested these days in the here and now and how they are going to stay in business in the future.
It was made all to clear to me when I was working for Siemens in Germany one day a telephone call was transferred into the office it was a guy from Ireland, he had come across a piece of Siemens kit from the 1880s. The conversation went would you like it for a display piece or your Museum, name and location was taken but as soon as the phone receiver was put down the paper was placed in the bin.
Noticing the puzzlement on my face the recipient of the phone call said we cant make a profit out of the companys product history only from what we make and market today, history is for those who have the time and the money to indulge them selves. It may not have been the company policy it was just one overworked office managers view at the time that resulted in a piece of the companies history disappearing!!


The only lessons in my life I truly did learn from where the ones I paid for!
