Some of the short inserts are split to make it easier to remove the hull. Comments about them indicate that the hull is marked with that line after firing and cannot be used for reloading. If the inserts are split would you think the extra thickness woould add to the strength of the chamber?

I bought some Chambermate to go from 12 to 16 ga.
The hulls have a marked bulge seam on the sides and they are hard to get out of the Chambermates when they are fired. I tried them with Remington, Winchester, Fiocchi and Federal shells. The Federals seem to come out the best but they are a pain to work with. All in all I am not using them and have decided that the money spent is a lesson. I would not recommend them. JMHO

Are you sure you're talking about Chambermates and not GaugeMates? GaugeMates have the split chamber design, where Chambermates have no split and have an intergrated extractor that sits atop the host guns ejector.

I don't see how Chambermates would cause a bulge.
