Re: the crown over D mark. Around 1930, Crucible Steel Co. purchased 'rough forged tubes' tubes from Delcour-Dupont of Nessonvaux. Jean-Baptiste Delcour was the father of Lucien & Oscar Delcour and had been a manager for Pieper & Cie before opening his own shop specializing in Damascus barrels. Canons Delcour was registered in 1921, and remained in business until about 1968 when they were acquired by Fabrique National de Herstal.
The mark is found on Fox, Ithaca NID (“Best Fluid Steel”), Ithaca Lefever Nitro Special A-grades, and Smith Field and Trap grade guns.
