Thanks for putting my intentions to words Mikker. That is exactly what I meant to say ---- We would sleeve/re-tube the old bbl. Ken

World full of chalkboards and fingernails, aint' it, Miller! The British use of "sleeving" conveys perfectly well what's retained and what's thrown away after the amputation. The fact that dis here end of dese gets saved and dose plugged in do not a monoblock make. You can't even "monoblock" a Citori after it leaves the factory.

If you take away the original barrels, you'd end-up with as 8b says "toys."
This and hi-condition is the only thing that keeps you waxin' 'em!

By the way Ken, what length barrels will be available? I would think all the common lengths such as 26,28 and 30 would be easy. I would like to see a 32 as an option for the 12 ga. But if this is going to be a light frame to accommodate the smaller gauges I guess a 2" 12 ga. might be the way to go for that gauge, then there is no need for 32 inchers.

One of our prospective "makers", Doug Mann, can post a picture of one of his (and my) favorite 12 gauges that goes far to illustrate how a 12 gauge pigeon gun can be built on a very small frame without resorting to thin chamber walls.

So, if you are asking if it's a good idea to put new barrels on an old gun for the specific purpose of shooting modern pressure loads, my opinion is NO.

The decided lengths of the new bbl's will be 26,28 and 30" only. Buck Hamlen and others are of the opinion that only the 20 ga. could or should be chambered for a 3" shell, 16 and light 12 will be 2 3/4" chambering ---- all with long forcing cones.

I believe the reason for the tear in the S/W frame is due to poor re-heat treating/ FWIW, Ken

Ken,
Those lengths sound great to me. If I can scrape the bucks together, I'll go for a multi-barreled, multi-gauge, setup.

I'm guessing someone repeatedly shot some heavy/hot stuff in that Fox and it finally gave up.
