What you could suggest for 1 year pointing dog, what is the best on the market today?

I have no idea what experience you may have had with e-collars. However, it will not fix the problems you are talking about. Only going back to basic training will fix these things. A big running dog can not be controlled with an e-collar. It is a matter of displine. When you call the dog or whistle, it has to come to you. Questing after the "wrong" birds will never be fixed by the use of an e-collar. If anything, you will cause the dog to "blink" or worse, make the dog totally bird shy.
A beep on demand collar is nice. I use them on both of my dogs. However, I could just as easily use a bell, which I some times do. I always use a whistle. I have not had to shock a dog in almost over 2 years.
