It is interesting, that it lost quite a bit of weight, with the new bbls.

Hello Bret Adams,

You are not quite correct about the weight. - The rifle did not get lighter.

The weights given in the John Dickson ledger are:

weight of the rifle, 10 1/4 lbs
weight of the barrels, 5 3/4 lbs

The weights given in the Alex Henry ledger are:

weight of the barrels, 7 lbs 10 ounces
weight of the barrels, 7 lbs 9 ounces (not sure why the double entry with 1 oz difference)

So, the barrels actually got almost 2 pounds heavier, therefore the total weight rifle got heavier.

The rifle, as it sits on the postal scale, weighs 12 lbs 2 ounces, unloaded, and 12 pounds 7 ounces loaded.

THANK GOODNESS ! !

It kicks enough at this weight, I couldn't hardley shoot it if it was any lighter.
