Hello, it has been a long time since I posted here. I have a friend with an Crass Grade 3 who is looking for a set of barrels. The set on the action right now are a cobbled up mess and not the originals. It is an 1890's gun, serial number 226xx, and they would have been twist or damascus of a higher pattern. If anyone knows where there may be a set for sale, please respond here and I will have him get in touch with you. A donation to the site would be in order.
Thanks, Jim Meili

Grade 3 barrels would most likely have been a quality damascus as opposed to twist. My grade 2 had a nice quality star pattern damascus. I do have a nice set of fluid steel barrels from a crass if you're interested.

I can't help with finding you barrels, but here is an example from a Crass grade 3 in the 17k SN block. Hope this helps.
I really don't know much more about it.... it's kind of an orphan in my collection.

Chuck, I will pass the word onto Kent about the fluid steel barrels.
kc, thanks much for those photos. Now we have an idea of the type damascus.
Thanks to both of you for your replies, much appreciated.
