And Never Forget, in thinking pressure, one must always look at the entire pressure curve. Most of these flawed bbls seem to burst in a forward position, not in the chamber. A flaw will be a higher proportion of the wall in the thinner areas than in the chamber, & few seem to be affected there. If, two loads are loaded to identical ballistics, say 1oz shot @ 1200 fps, one with a fast powder giving 9,000 psi, the other with a slower powder giving only 7,000 psi, other than within the chamber itself, the "Lower Pressure" load will put more stress on the rest of the bbl. This will normally not be enough to be of concern, but is not going to be of great advantage to a flaw 10-14" down the bbl.
