I am sorry guys, but really isn't Wonko more right than wrong. Dead is dead and I can't believe a dead bird knew whether he was hit by a load of 6s or 4s. Now wounded birds might know you didn't kill him, but I doubt that he knew what size shot you hit him with.
Hunting behind good dogs, I really have found no need to concern myself with what size shot was contained in the shells I stuffed into my pocket, so much as I needed to concern myself that they were indeed the right length and gauge. A difference of 30 to 50 pellets to the ounce is really not much difference.
