We have a Sterlingworth, by AH Fox, 20 gauge side by side appearing to be from 1917 (approx). We are in need of a new - old checkered stock for it as the one on it is not the original, not checkered, and very poorly fitted having been chopped off. Does anyone have an old 20gauge stock in their take off pile? Or, can you lead us to one? Thanks.

Also, if someone knows of a matching pair - that would be great. Sometimes better to match both the forend and stock together. Thanks again.

There are two A-grade stocks on gunbroker, that are supposed to be from small frame guns. He gives the width measurement, so you can check to see if it would fit your gun.

Sksranch - Welcome. I have a stock and fore-rend off of a 16 ga. sterly made about that time. I believe the 16 sterlys used the 20 ga. action, so the stock should fit - but I wonder if the fore-end might be a bit wider for the 16 ga. barrels.

Sksranch - I have some photos to forward to you if you want to PM your email address to me. I can't give you exact dimensions unfortunately, as the stock is no longer attached to the gun. The stock is 15'' from top of the head to midpoint on the butt and I recall the measured LOP was s around 14". I also don't recall the exact drops but believe they were something like 1 5/8 and 2 5/8. Matching SNs on both pieces.
