Are these wood screws holding the head of the stock together or cocking indicators? The slots both seem aligned and a Google image search has brought up another gun with them and more without. thanks, Rob

My 310 does not have them. I'd venture that they are preventing the opening of the stock...Geo

From the position I would say these are to "reinforce" the stock head .Cocking indicators on guns of this type would have been on the top behind the fences .

I've got one, too. It doesn't have the screws. I like the gun, it was reasonably priced and very sturdy. Not elegant, but a good working gun.

Definitely not cocking indicators. 310s did not have these. Probably there due to an internally split stock head. Here's a photo of my 310 Lyx sans any screws.

310s are the best actions of the Huskies. It could very well be the screw is there for prevention as many continental guns had the screw from the factory; Merkel, Sauer, Pieper etc. My 310

Those 310s are nice with the upper and lower scears I assume. Although there were some drillings and possibly a few doubles pre-WWII but the ounce of prevention being a screw/bolt in the head of the stock was post WWII. Most of the pre-WWII examples wearing such a support is a repair.
Do any of the 310s wear an A&D APUN on the standing breech and were the actions sourced from Germany?
Kind Regards,

Pleaser excuse my ignorance, but what is APUN? The standing breech on mine is plain except for the cut out for the crossbolt.
