SKB is correct. It is the round headed pin (yoke screw?) that guides the safety spring. This is a new stock and the area under the top tang is deeper than the original - the sides are glass bedded. I will compare to the original stock and probably put some material down in this area to keep the pin from coming out and may also peen the area around it. Thanks for all the help! The new stock is a very nice piece of black walnut - sorry, I have not figured out how to post pics yet. If it is fixed by this weekend it will be at Woods and Meadows for the sxs shoot.
