Hello Folks Have a friend in Maine that needs some Rem *57 size primers for loading all brass Alcan hulls for his double gun. Anyone on the Upper East Coast have some available? Thanks Mike

I used to "convert" 57 size holes to 209 size with a harden piece of drill rod and a MEC 600 Jr. Never tried on brass but it worked on the old paper base Remingtons.

Understand, but sometime in doing that the sawdust base wad will crumple on the vintage hulls now. I have a brick of the old primers that I use and another 1000 espyed out, but need to find some on the East Coast. Mike

Thanks 12brd, but Haz Mat shipping is way too high to justify shipping across country Mike

Skeettx, If you think Bill's method of swaging the primer pocket won't work in old cases, what about reaming? Mike

I would think reaming would work great for the brass cases. I don't think I would want to try it on the old paper cases. As I recall the thin brass of the head is formed up inside the cardboard base wad. Reaming would be likely to take the brass out leaving you just seating the primer in the cardboard.

I asked for assistance in finding *57 primers on the Upper East Coast. Let us not drift this posting please. Mike
