Bilious Bob,
While cheap old drillings are plentiful here, new Pachmayr pads are hardly available at all. But I think I can get a good black marker and some masking tape quite easily.

With kind regards,
Jani

There was a time when white lines were "cool" and you couldn't find a pad w/o one. If I build a gun now, I don't use one, but if I get a gun from that time that has one, I don't worry about it. Anyway, they might be "cool" again next year.

Double knit polyester clothes and disco suits were cool once, too.

But I don't think they're coming back. Ever.

Slovenia aside, of course...

I have a box of those rare white lined pads. All were removed with a standard issue screw driver. What is rare in one place is common in another. Perhaps if I keep them long enough they will come back into style here.

50 years ago all pumps or autos came with Cutts chokes. 40 years ago all doubles seemed to come with 25-26" barrels. 30 years ago you could not buy a shotgun without a white lined pad. 20 years ago it was ported barrel. 10 years ago it was screw in chokes. Now all guns are considered assault weapons. You have to love progress like that in a country which has the Second Amendment. talk about the real inconvenient truths. Rights are privileges and privileges are becoming rights, the inmates are running the show and not paying the bills.

Bilious Bob,
Be sure to save all your double knit, your grandkids might bring Disco back. At least you won't have to worry about moths eating them up.

Well Bob, since you don't live in Slovenia or know Jani how would you know? And please resist the urge to keep "coming back."
Also, I didn't think you could own a rifle in Slovenia. Even though Slovenia is an absolutely beautiful country I always thought they were pretty strict on rifle, but not shotgun, private ownership.

Give us the dope on gun ownership Jani!! smile
