Your gun already cost $21k, it just had not been disclosed to you. That is part of the cost of buying a gun in the UK, just like paying a buyer's premium to an auction house. It is one of the reasons why guns listed in the UK can look favorably priced compared to similar guns listed in the US - the latter reflects the costs of landing the gun over here.
