I didn't call you "stupid" or an "idiot" but I guess if the shoe fits you got to wear it....as far as bridges go never had much use for a one way bridge.

You #9 fairy dust boys like to talk in "cc this and cc that"....

Show us the actual weight difference between equal size lead shot versus the magic fairy dust.

No one doubts it's harder but I was told by Nitro Ray himself that the weight difference between equal size pellets of hevi-shot verses lead could not be weighed on a hand loading grain scale ?

Must take a fairy dust scale. laugh

Joe, I hold no grudges. Comment deleted. Peace.
A week or two ago in the Favorite Game/Gun Pictures thread, I showed this photo comparison of a pound of lead #8s and a pound of Tungsten Super Shot #8s. Post #323852 Now you see what 18 g/cc vs 12 g/cc means. Hope this "show(s) the actual difference between equal size lead shot versus the magic fairy dust." Pretty clear to me the weight difference. This isn't Hevi-shot compared with lead shot, but Tungsten Super Shot compared with lead shot.
Nitro Ray doesn't load what we load which as he says isn't measurably heavier than lead. In the same thread you'll see 3 Ga. birds I killed with Pixie Dust this year. One with the 20 and 2 with the .410.

I'd like to see the actual weight difference between single pellets.

Lagopus, thanks for the link! I had never heard of those and they do look interesting. But I want a sxs or I'll just keep using the el cheapo.

jOe,

Lead #8:
.088" 1 grain
.083" .09 grain
.087" 1 grain
.088" 1 grain
All 4 weighed together 3.9 grains

Tungsten #8
.084" 1.6 grains
.084" 1.5 grains
.087" 1.6 grains
.087 1.6 grains
All four weighed together 6.4 grains

Had an outsized #8 lead that measured .095" weighed 1.3 grains

The above is reflective of the two photos showing different volumes of a pound of each shot.
Digital scale weighs in .1 grain increments up to 750 grains. I don't know accuracy, but probably about .05 grains. I don't know at what weight the scale rounds up or down.

".6" of a grain difference.

So if you hit a turkey with an extra half grain of magic fairy sand it's going to make a difference ? laugh

My SxS turkey gun is a Western Arms Long Range 16 ga. It has 30" barrels choked F&F. Patterns great with 1.25 ozs. of 6s. and Kent Matrix 6s if I hunt on Federal WPAs. I would think they are out there in 12s if one looks. Mine was in the 95+% condition and I paid $300 for it and wouldn't sell it for twice, awesome duck SxS with Kent Matrix.
