So I think these barrels are contemporary to the action.
The inspector marks are hearsay and should not be used to date a gun IMHO. The k is 1932 indeed.
Interesting to see that Lebeau used Scott-like gas checks instead of disc set strikers.

WC, looks to me as if that gun has both disc set strikers and gas checks. Note the circle around the pins, plus the twin slots for the tool used to remove them. Don't know why those slots would be there if not for the striker tool.

Larry,
You are right, I had missed that picture.
I had never seen both features on the same gun, typically the venting is done internally from the striker bushing to the outside of the fence, using a pin with a tiny longitudinal hole.
Best regards,

Any chance that Lebeau will still have records of this firearm?

Contacting may and I would guess that Marc would know the answer to that question.

The New Old Courally I posted has both the relief channels and disks:

Anyone know the designer of the toplever stop found on just a handful of upper rung Belgian offerings?

Thanks to all for the help on the Lebeau. Trying to get in touch with Lebeau in Leige in hopes of getting document provenance for the gun.

While you have them on the line ask them if they made sporting weapons for Verney-Carron?

I wanted to post the measurements of the bores, chokes and wall thicknesses. The right barrel choke measures .700 with a wall thickness of .060. The left choke is .695 with a wall thickness of .065. Both chambers measure at .732 just in front of the chamber inside the bore. The chamber measures .800 at the front of the chamber and .808 at the opening of the chamber. The chamber depths are as they left the factory at 70mm which is equivalent to 2 3/4".

Finally got through to Lebeau and they've responded with the gun specs as it was built in 1932.

Hello,

Thanks for your call and for your e.mail.
Regarding shotgun 42703, here are specifications :

Made in pair with number 42704 and it’s for that you can see n°1 et 2 on barrel, action and fore end.
Choke for gun 42703 = ľ and full – weight of barrel 1k449 – weight of gun 3k370
